The 2021 Utah Film Market in the US is to offer Iranian ‘Bandi’.

The 12th edition of the Utah Film Market in the US has been set to offer Iranian flick ‘Bandi’.

Written, produced and directed by Jalil Shariatifar, the 40-minute film is about a therapist, an elderly woman, who claims that her mother resurrected a young boy named Rostam some 60 years ago through an acrobatic method. Doctors do not agree and the woman is trying to prove her claim.

The flick examines the clauses from the point of view of its different characters, the people, the doctors, the opponents, and the pros. In the end, judgment is left to the viewers.

The cast list of ‘Bandi’ includes Atena Mosleh-Memari, Hashem Hassani, Shahab Mohammadi, and Hoda Teymouripour.

Born in 1987 in Mashhad, Shariatifar studied photography and Theater Directing and got to know cinema which led him to the Mashhad Young Cinema Association, where he gained some experiences in the field of short films.

He made his first short film ‘Scale’ in 2005. His other works are ‘A Gift for You’, ‘The Old Tree’, ‘Market Wheel’, ‘Backyard’ and ‘Enma’.
